The Mazda Miata MX-5 (NA) has taken the car community by storm. This Mini GT model version refers to the first generation Miata that was produced between 1989 and 1997 in North America. Mazda originally developed the NA Miata with a 1.6-liter twin-cam four making 116hp. But, in 1994 Mazda increased the displacement to a 1.8-liter inline-four, producing 128hp.
The generation 1 Miata was the only version that came with the well-known pop-up headlights. To this day, the Mazda Miata is a very affordable and dependable enthusiast car. With rear-wheel drive (RWD) and weighing just over 2,000lbs, made the Miata an incredibly playful toy. Just before the pandemic, you could purchase an NA for about $2,000. Since then, their value and collectability have quickly risen up to an average price now of $6,500.
This 1/64 scale diecast model is one of few that displays the Miata with its iconic popup headlights raised, and also features the common soft-top found on most cars today.
